If we talk about the meaning of the word "Kidzooon," we would say it is simply a word chosen to express a platform talking about children's literature, combining the two English words: kids and zone, which mean in Arabic "children's space." With some modifications in the spelling of the two words and their fusion into one word. This is because the platform, in its goal and formation, was created as a vast space aimed at encompassing everything that children's literature enthusiasts can search for... and for our children to enjoy

Who are we?

The Kidzooon platform for children’s and youth literature – Kidzooon: A voluntary space created by specialists and enthusiasts in the field of children’s literature, aimed at gathering everything related to children’s literature in one place. This space includes literary and educational articles, stories and children’s books, literary biographies and contact information for publishers, reviews and critical articles, as well as news about awards and competitions

We are an exceptional team of talents with a wide range of skills and experiences. We love what we do, we do it passionately, and we aspire to provide everything we can for you

General and specific publishing terms for submitting works to the free Kidzooon blog and the Gheyama quarterly magazine.

The Kidzooon platform for children’s literature and stories (Kidzooon) is a digital space for all writers and creators to leave their mark. To maximize benefits and wider distribution, it is necessary to establish regulatory terms for publication that apply to everyone.

write
General terms for submitting works to the Kidzooon website and Gheyama magazine:
  1. Publishing creative works is obligatory through the reading committee.
  2. Works are sent to us and read; if they are eligible for publication, they will be published on the Kidzooon blog.
  3. Creative works sent to Gheyama magazine are only accepted during the designated period for receiving works in the magazine and are obligatory to go through the reading committee. They will be evaluated and read by the committee, and if eligible for publication, they will be published in the magazine first and then republished on the Kidzooon blog by the blog’s publishing team.
  4. Works must be written in proper language and free of spelling and linguistic errors.
  5. Works must be accompanied by: the age group the work is targeted to, the title of the work, the name of the author, and the author’s country. Any work lacking this information will not be evaluated until all the required data in this item are received.
  6. Those whose topics have been rejected can participate with other topics, and being rejected for one work does not prevent them from participating with other works if they wish to.
  7. It is important to have an appropriate and attractive title for the story. The title of the story and the name of the author should be written at the beginning of the text in a Word file, and the country or date of writing the text can be mentioned, along with the age – in case the participant is a child.
  8. The auditing committees have the right to make modifications to the submitted works as they deem appropriate, such as linguistic and spelling edits, and some terms or sentences, in a way that suits the story and its style, without changing or compromising the author’s idea.
  9. If the committee requests a modification to the creative work, the author must commit to making the modification based on those notes. If the author fails to comply, the submitted work will be excluded and will not be published.
The story’s author must write the story in an innovative and distinctive way, using as few words as possible.
  10. If participating in the poetry section, the author of the creative work is kindly requested to consider meter, rhyme, and poetic forms in their works before sending them.
Excluded works from publication on the Kidzooon site and Gheyama magazine:
  1. Works that touch on creed are excluded from publication.
  2. Political topics are excluded from publication. Works that violate human ethics and morals are excluded. However, awareness-raising stories are subject to acceptance or rejection by the committee.
  3. Works that contradict scientific rules and contain unscientific texts are excluded from publication. However, fictional works that deal with sciences such as planets, galaxies, and time travel are accepted and will not be rejected for their imaginative themes.
  4. Works that are not well-crafted and are filled with linguistic errors, and/or show inconsistency in style due to the writer not reviewing their work before submitting, are excluded.
  5. A work will be excluded if there are more than 15 linguistic or stylistic errors per page. Nevertheless, valuable works containing linguistic errors will be considered and sent to the verification committee, and the name of the verifier will be mentioned in the post. Works judged by the reading committee to lack quality are excluded, and the committee is not obliged to provide a reason for rejecting the submitted works.
  6. Rejection is usually due to the work’s violation of the terms, its linguistic clumsiness, or its literary and artistic weakness, or it being unsuitable for publication.
  7. Works derived from other stories to ensure rights are excluded if the author does not declare the story’s source. However, works that clearly indicate and explicitly mention the sources are accepted and can be published, such as stories derived from heritage or old tales.
  8. Works written in colloquial dialects are excluded unless the writer specifies the name of the country or region where the story was written in that dialect, with the necessity of writing the dialect correctly in terms of grammar and spelling.

  5. The participant is required to submit their contribution via email to the magazine. This is the only method for receiving texts and contributions.

  6. The contributor must send their work in a Word file, including the contributor’s name and country. If the contributor is a child, their age should also be included. The email subject should contain the title of the submitted work and the name of the author. The email address for submitting works to the magazine is: ghaima.magazine@gmail.com

  7. If a work is accepted and approved for publication, it may appear in the new issue or subsequent issues.

Only one work per contributor will be accepted at a time. Any contribution sent in violation of these conditions will be rejected without evaluation.

  10. The submitted works must be unpublished and never been published before. They should be published for the first time in Gheyama Magazine. The author may publish them elsewhere afterward as they wish.

  11. The reading committee will review the creative texts submitted. If revisions are required, the committee will provide feedback, and the author should make the suggested changes. If the contributor does not adhere to the requested revisions, their work will not be published.

  12. Each author is given three opportunities for revision and improvement of their writing according to the committee’s feedback. However, there are limitations, and if a work is rejected three times by the committee, it will be excluded, and resubmission will not be allowed during the same year. If the author does not respond to the revision requests, the submitted work will be rejected and not published.

General Recommendations before Participating in Kidzooon Website or Gheyama Magazine for Children and Young Adults:
  1. We remind all contributors of the importance of providing their full names in Arabic exclusively.
  2. Contributors are advised to review their works several times, at relatively spaced intervals, to be able to detect errors in their works on their own.
  3. Contributors should pay attention to the orthographic and linguistic correctness of their texts, especially in accurately writing the hamza (الهمزة) in its different forms (hamzah waslah (ا), hamzah qat’ (أ / إ)), and making sure of the correct presence of the hamza in words, particularly in the middle and at the end of words. They should also differentiate between the letter “ya” (ي) and the “alif maqsura” (ى).
  4. Contributors are encouraged to use appropriate punctuation, including dots, commas, etc.
  5. Contributors are advised to add important and necessary diacritics, especially in cases of ambiguity in the text.
  6. Finally, we remind ourselves and each other to be mindful of everything we publish and write. Together, let’s remember that children’s authors and writers exist to educate generations and not to destroy them. Let’s also remember the divine saying: “Not a word does he utter but there is a watcher by him ready (to note it).” (Quran, Surah Qaf, 50:18).
